Judo... More Than a Sport!

Why Choose Us?

At Quilter Judo Academy, we are more than just a judo club—we are a family-focused community. Our club is led by Ben and Francesca Quilter, both highly accomplished competitive athletes who have proudly represented Great Britain on the world stage.

Ben is both a  World and European Champion and a Paralympic bronze medallist, with an impressive career. His achievements at the highest levels of competition make him one of the most respected names in the sport, and his wealth of experience in international events brings a unique perspective to his coaching.

Francesca, a multiple-time British Champion, has excelled in the competitive judo scene herself. Her technical knowledge and commitment to the sport ensure that every student at Quilter Judo Academy receives expert guidance, whether they’re just starting out or preparing for competition.

Together, Ben and Francesca foster a welcoming, professional, and supportive environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Their combined knowledge, experience, and passion for judo ensure that our academy is not only a place to learn technique but also a place to build confidence, discipline, and resilience.

We pride ourselves on being a family-focused club, where both parents and children can train together and grow through the sport. We believe that judo is more than just a sport—it’s a way to learn valuable life skills that last well beyond the dojo.

What People Say

"Enrolling my child at Quilter Judo Academy has been one of the best decisions we’ve made as a family. Not only has my child gained confidence and discipline, but they’ve also learned the importance of respect and perseverance. The coaches are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, creating a safe and welcoming environment for kids of all ages. I’ve seen such a positive change in my child’s focus and attitude, both on and off the mat. Quilter Judo Academy isn’t just about teaching judo—it’s about building character. We’re so grateful to be part of this amazing community!"

Sarah, Parent of a 10-year-old student
